The Briggait is home to a plethora of contemporary jewellery designers and makers. Our work covers a huge range of styles and materials; from precious metals, stones and pearls to jesmonite, 3D printed nylon and fossilised coral. Come along and visit our studios, browse our work, have a festive drink and a few mince pies! Open Friday 8th December 5PM - 8PM & Saturday 9th December 11AM - 5PM. Studios Open - 107, 113, 114 (& 121 on Saturday.)

Representing emerging makers of diverse crafts, Directions showcases the broad range of talent in Scotland, showcasing jewellery, textile design and bookbinding. Unified by the strength of the community that was formed through our time together as part of the Craft Scotland Compass Programme, Directions forms a cohesive and complimentary group of disciplines, tied together by technical skill, design and the quality of handcrafted work. Makers include Eve Campbell, Fiona Hall, Roslyn Leitch, Ailsa Ritchie, Gillian Stewart and Emma Louise Wilson.

'Mad For Hoops' at Gallery 2052, Chicago

In this celebration of this millennia-old form of adornment, Gallery 2052 is hosting an exhibition of Hoop earrings. From “huggies” to shoulder dusters, hoop-style designs date back to the ancient Sumerians and ancient Egyptians. Since then they have adorned men, women, pirates and cats alike!

The Mad for Hoops call-for-entry invited artists of all backgrounds to submit their unique interpretation of a hoop-style earring. I was so pleased my cricket hoop design was chosen to be shown during this exhibition alongside contemporary jewellers from all over the world.
