FAQs ~ All
Hello! If you have any questions about my practice, commissioning a piece of jewellery or anything at all hopefully you can find the answer here or will find the link to the relevant blog post. If your question isn’t answered here there is a ‘Get in Touch’ form at the bottom of the page or feel free to leave me a comment. As this page gets longer I’ll break them down into sections so hopefully it easy to find the answer you are looking for.
This blog is a work in progress! I may sometimes write questions down as I think of them but may not have the time to answer them straight away. Apologies for any inconvenience this causes. Any new questions I’m asked will be added to this list.
Web orders
When will my order arrive?
Most items are made to order so please see individual listings for processing times. If you need something for a certain date drop me an email and I’ll let you know if I can meet it. Standard UK deliveries are sent by Royal Mail - First Class Signed For which aims to deliver your parcel in 1-2 working days. Items over £60 will be sent by Royal Mail - Special Delivery which is guaranteed next day delivery.
What if my order doesn’t arrive?
All orders are sent tracked and you will be provided with a tracking number. Please check the tracking number for information on your parcel. Sometimes shipping takes longer than expected - especially at busy times of year. I can’t be held responsible for this but let me know and I’ll do my best to resolve the situation. If your package has been marked as sent but hasn’t arrived please let me know asap.
Can you resize rings after purchase and is there a charge?
For rings sold from via the shop on my website please read and refer to the individual listing. For most I will resize them once free of charge in the first year. After a year I judge each job individually. If it’s a simple plain band I will continue to try and resize for free (apart from postage) as your jewellery should last forever. If I need to add more material to the band or the ring has stones and needs to be resized with a laser welder there will be a small change to cover the costs.

Materials
What do you mean by using recycled materials ‘as standard’?
By this I just mean that when I purchase bullion (either for finished pieces or samples) I always use recycled metals. All of the listings on my shop are made in recycled metals unless stated otherwise.
What’s the difference between Sterling Silver and Recycled Silver? Do they cost the same?
Chemically they are exactly the same. Recycled silver is just sterling silver that hasn’t been newly mined. Instead it has been refined from silver already in the market. How many times it’s been refined and how long ago it was mined however I can’t find out. Recycled or ‘eco’ silver as its sometimes called (although I don’t like to call it that as I think it’s a bit of a vague term) is currently around 15-20% more expensive than Sterling silver at one of my main suppliers. Edit: Since writing this the supplier I mentioned has made all their bullion recycled. Hurray!
