Engagement & Celebration Rings

My current ring designs can be customised with stones to them to make them extra special. I source my stones from a trusted suppliers so I can give you options and make sure they are ethically supplied. I recommend allowing 8 - 12 weeks for bespoke jewellery, however it’s really best to get in touch as early as possible as I often have a waitlist. For examples see the images below. I’ll be updating this gallery so please get in touch if you need any help. Please note I am currently offering a ‘customisation’ service in my current ring style, rather than fully bespoke in a full range of styles. This means I can create pieces more seamlessly and provide a better service for you, please get in touch if you have any questions.

How it Works

1. Discuss your ideas

My studio is located in The Briggait in Glasgow but I can also work with you remotely via email or Zoom. If you would like to arrange an appointment for a consultation or have any questions please get in touch using the form below. I only take on a small number of commissions a month so I can give them my full attention (so please note I may not be able to start work on your design immediately). I work in recycled & fair-trade metals as well as ethically supplied stones. You can also view my ring samples and show me any heirloom jewellery or stones you may wish to incorporate into your new piece.

2. Designing

The designing stage almost always starts with sketches. These first sketches normally include few different options before narrowing them down to your perfect piece. I do these as digital drawings so it’s easy to quickly alter the composition etc if you want to see more options. At this stage I’ll also provide you with a quote.

Once you are happy with the sketched designs I’ll move on to physical samples. I’ll require a small deposit at this stage.

The way I approach designing your piece will vary depending on the style of jewellery being made. This stage normally takes around 2-4 weeks although it can be the most variable time-wise and can take longer. I’ll update you by email once a week (on a Friday) with sketches & samples or we can arrange studio visits.

3. Source your stones

I have a small number of trusted stone suppliers I contact to find the perfect stone for your design. From fairtrade Canadian diamonds, Shi Lankan sapphires, Scottish Agates, lab-grown Moissanites and more, I’m always careful about the ethical practices behind sourcing my stones. I try to be as transparent as possible with you, so please ask any questions you may have.

4. Create your piece

Once you are happy and have signed off on the final sketches and samples I’ll move on to making your piece! I’ll require a 50% deposit before moving on to the final piece.

I’ll keep you updated wile I make your jewellery with images and videos from my workbench. Once finished your new piece will be presented in a branded gift box and bag.

This stage takes 3-6 weeks.

Cannot recommend Ailsa enough! She listened to all our requests, gave us a full range of options and advice for each item and kept us really engaged in the process, meaning we were left with rings that felt truly ours. Originally Dimitris was just looking to get an engagement ring for me but after seeing the quality of work going into it, we simply had to get him one too. She was also really open about pricing and we were also thrilled at how affordable it was to buy bespoke! Looking forward to working with her again on our wedding jewellery.
